In the course of avoiding plastic, the desire of users and end consumers for fiber-based packaging is increasing. Due to legal requirements such as the Single Use Plastics Directive of the EU and the German Packaging Act, paper and cardboard packaging are booming.
In the comprehensive PTS online workshop “Recycling-friendly design of fiber-based food packaging”, the participants learn compactly in three days:
- the various regulatory and technological requirements for recyclability,
- the biodegradability of fiber-based packaging,
- the requirements for food safety, environmental labels and misleading that are placed on packaging,
- the technological possibilities of finishing paper and cardboard to achieve the required packaging properties such as barriers (gas, fat, moisture, migration), shape and printability.
