Knowledge of adhesive systems and their specific properties bring the often decisive added value for efficient production and process design, avoiding complaints and quality assurance measures. The course on June 17 and 18, 2020 in Heidenau (Paper Technology Foundation, Heidenau) provides theoretical foundations on materials and how adhesives work. The most important adhesive systems and their specific properties are presented. It also involves the detection of problematic adhesive surfaces, typical errors in the adhesive process and taking the right measures to ensure quality. Current adhesive research and the increasing replacement of crude oil-based substances with organic raw materials are also an issue.
Experts from practice and science report on the following content:
- Gluing – Theories & Conclusions for Practice
- Surface tension – term & measurement method for laboratory & field
- Preparation of adhesive surfaces with corona, plasma & flame – modes of action & recommendations for use
- Dispersion adhesives – production, mode of action, development trends, selection criteria
- Hotmelt adhesives – production, mode of action, development trends, selection criteria
- Adhesive application techniques – almost anything is possible
- Quality assurance in bonding processes

The Fiber Injection Molding Technology (FIM) developed by Fiber Engineering enables highly efficient production of three-dimensional molded fiber parts. With FIM 3D fiber parts can be produced with all types of fibers in almost any shape. The special feature is that different densities can be generated inside the components as needed. This reduces weight and material costs to an optimum.
Fiber Engineering develops customer-specific FIM series systems and manufactures parts from almost all fiber materials – from one piece to small and sample series.

The Saxon Textile Research Institute e. V. (STFI) invites for the fourteenth time to the exchange of textiles recycling experts. Circular economy and sustainability are becoming increasingly important for the entire textile industry. For this reason, the main focus of the Hotel Chemnitzer Hof on 04th and 05th of december 2019 will be on principles of sustainable management, material cycles, new processes for economic recycling and the recycling of high-performance pulp.
Be there too! Meet numerous participants from the industry and listen to interesting lectures. Look forward to a lecture on the subject “carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic semi-finished products in the wet-laid process” by Johannes Tietze and Mirko Jakob | Cetex Institut gGmbH.
