Macrosticky determination with NIR camera technology | 26.01.2022

The new NIR imaging measurement method enables the determination of macrostickies, but also of nonadhesive polymers without a separation step directly in laboratory sheets of fabric samples or in finished paper.

In this online appointment, our experts will show you the technology behind and use cases of the Markosticky determination.

Agenda:

  • Introduction to Image Analysis and NIR-Technology
  • Impact on the paper production
  • Live-Demonstration of the makrosticky-device

Our PTS Experts Richard Fankhänel, Hempel Jörg, Lydia Tempel, Björn Zimmermann, Dr. Patrick Plew and from Voith Group Sebastian Schuster will introduce you the new measurement method.

Paper & Board for Food Contact

New regulations for paper and board in food contact have been in force in Europe and Germany in this year 2021. Do you ask yourself, what future impact does the German Printing Ink Regulation have on Paper & Board Food Contact Materials? And does the Council of Europe Resolution on Paper and Board (2021) fill the gap of missing EU legislation?

Answers and insightful information will be provided by Katharina Adler from the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (Bundesministerium für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft (BMEL)) as well as Matthias Henker representing the European Printing Ink Association (EUPIA) in their presentations. Christa Hametner from AGES (Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety) will introduce details regarding the Council of Europe Resolution on Paper and Board (2021).

More Topics, Questions & Answers:

At the conference further questions will be asked regarding the topics like European Single Use Plastics Directive, regulations in other countries, remarkable substances and viruses as well as bacteria. Answers will be provided by recognised speakers in interesting presentations on these topics, which you will find in the programme!

Paper, cardboard and paperboard in contact with food

Food comes into contact with many materials before it is consumed. These so-called food contact materials (FCMs) should be sufficiently inert so that their components do not affect consumer health or food quality.

In the online workshop “Introduction to Conformity Work and Quality Assurance for Paper, Board and Cardboard for Food Contact”, our experts will provide you with insights into legal requirements as well as practical examples for your company’s processes for fiber-based materials.

  • Regulations on food contact materials in Europe
  • Requirements for paper in Germany
  • Practical implementation of the requirements

Online Workshop – Brief Information:Date: Tuesday, 07 December 2021 l 09:00 h to 14:00 h

  • Place: Online Workshop
  • Price: 350 € (including consulting appointment)
  • PTS Donor Discount: Member companies of a PTS benefactor association receive a 10% discount on the list price.

PTS-Zellstoff-Symposium 2021

Future material developments and trends, new fibre products and insight to fibre engineering will determine the program of the PTS Pulp Symposium 2021 on 23 and 24 November 2021 in Radebeul near Dresden.

The insightful topics from and discussions with experts and internationally recognized speakers from science and industry will be divided into four sessions “Bioeconomy”, “New Fibre Products”, “Process Innovations” and “Fibre Forming”.

The two days of the event will open with a Keynote by Daniel Stegmann (Uniper SE) and Peter Dèsilet (pacoon GmbH):

  • “CO2 Neutral Pulp & Paper Industries in 2040”, Daniel Stegmann.
  • “Outlook for new fiber raw materials for packaging in the coming years”, Peter Dèsilet

Take part Online or On Site!

Beside the lecture, the symposium will be organized as a hybrid event format, so you have the choice to take part on site at TSW – Conference Centre of the Saxon Economy or online.

For our on site participants, we will again offer ideal opportunities to network with the speakers and other participants with a visit to the Dresden “Striezelmarkt” and dinner after the program at day one.

Aging and safety – paper and packaging printing put to the test

Resistance to aging and forgery are highly relevant topics that also affect the paper industry. Requirements are placed here on prints and writings on paper when, as in the notary’s office, it is a matter of creating and storing documents, originals or copies of the same. In packaging printing, aging and safety also play an important role. In particular, packaging for prescription drugs or medical products poses challenges for the pharmaceutical industry with the applicable regulations.

In this PTS Insight, you will get an insight into the wide range of PTS testing services and research projects dedicated to exciting aging & safety issues.
